Introducing Native Knowledge 360 & Free Teacher Institute Summer 2018

The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) has launched Native Knowledge 360 (NK360), a national education initiative to promote improved teaching and learning about American Indians. In order to complete our mission, NMAI is hosting a free teacher institute in Washington DC, from July 9 through July 12, 2018. The NK360 2018 Summer Teacher Institute will inform and support teachers' practices in bringing accurate, appropriate, and more complete understandings about American Indians to their students. The Institute is open to educators of grades 6-12 who have at least two years of classroom experience. Native educators and teachers who work with Native youth are especially encourages to apply. The Institute is free of charge and includes housing, breakfast, and lunch. Attendees are responsible for the cost of their travel to and from Washington, DC.
